I got to the hospital at 9:00 this morning and the nurses had just put Mitchell in a chair. After sitting in the chair for about 20 minutes, they took him for a short walk. He did very well...mostly using his strength with a little guidance from the nurses. They plan on having him do the same gig again two more times today. He didn't have a very good night...not much sleep. Mitchell is still experiencing quite a bit of pain and is not at all happy about it...in fact, he is a little angry today. Dr. Cassidy came in while Mitchell was walking and said he was doing really well. Everything is progressing as expected...the only thing he would like Mitchell do is eat a little more. The doctor also said that day 2 (yesterday) and day 3 (today) are the roughest. On day 4 (tomorrow), Mitchell will wake up and feel like a new man...still some pain, but it will be a turning point day! Praise the Lord. It is hard to see you son be in so much pain and not being able to help him. The nurses are great encouragers...
I asked Mitchell if he would like visitors today, and he said that it would be ok if family came up. He asked that if his friends could wait until tomorrow (Saturday), that would be best.
Please pray today for: pain to be managed, patience and endurance and hope, get his appetite back, rest.
Thanks again and have a great holiday!
Pam

Hang in there Dryers! It sounds like you are getting thru the worst of it. I have not been able to read the blog for a couple of days (power outage:() and in catching up I am impressed on how much progress is being made. God loves you all! Mitch keep that taller/straighter image in mind, you are almost there. Love the Bongas.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! Mitch, I hope today you can do the things the nurses want you to do without much pain!!! I bet it's nice not to have all those wires hooked to you!! They made you hop up and down 10 times?!?!? I can't even do that!!! See, you are already better than your Aunt Peggy!! You're not eating??? I am sure the hospital food isn't the best. Maybe mom can bring in something that you like, not candy maybe, something good for you that actually tastes good! Soon you will be home. I will come and visit you at home on my lunch hour. I'll bring you something that you like to eat and we can have lunch together. I had to work at TriCounty this morning and do payroll so I could get on Don's computer and write you a note. Pam, hang in there!! You are an awesome MOM!!! Look at it this way, you get to spend time with your son today. Soon, he will be to old and will have other things to do than to hang out with Mom. (Okay, I try to find a silver lining in everything!!) If you get a chance this weekend, give me a call because I won't have access to a computer until Monday. Love you all!! Peggy
