Mitchell is in surgery

Mitchell went into surgery at 8:00 with surgery starting at 8:40. We had an update from the nurse at 11:00. She said Mitchell was doing well. The doctors were working on the instrumentation (rods, screws, clamps, etc).

We had a cool thing happen this morning. When we were coming into the hospital, Hugo and Sarah Vasquez were coming in at the same time. We ended up going to the pre-op room together. As Hugo said, "There are no coincidences, God planned for this to happen." He and Sarah prayed with Mitchell before he went into the operating room. How cool is that!??!?
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

We can feel them!

Pam -- Thanks so much for the update. I have had you and Mitchell on my mind constantly today. I can't tell you how many times I've hit "refresh" to see if there's anything new on the blog! :) I think I'm more worried about you then him at this point. I know the mother's heart that you have and I'm sure it is a struggle to see your child in pain. Know that God has Mitchell in the palm of His hand and will guide the surgeon's hands throughout. I am praying for you my friend.
Much Love,
Jodi

Pam & Doug, I really am liking this blog thing. I am thinking and praying for you both and Mitchell constantly. I am really feeling the "twin thing" today. I can feel your anxiousness and also your peace as all kinds of people are praying for you. I have the girls at the office here praying also. Hang in there!! If you need anything, please let me know. We are going to be around for the holiday weekend. Love and prayers, Peggy

Pam & Doug...I know exactly what you're going through. Just know that you and your family are in our prayers. Katie will probably be the best support that Mitch could ever have. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me. This will probably be the longest day you've ever had in your life. Trust me, it will be worth it in the end.

Mitch, I hope you had a good night's rest. It must feel good to have the surgery behind you so you can move forward in the healing process. I hope you did not watch the Tigers today, it wasn't good. Anyway's, I just wanted to remind you that you are loved and know that we are thinking and saying tiny prayers throughout the day for you and your family. I just had a funny thought, remember wrecking that chair by the pool with the scooter. What a blast! Love you guys! Steve, Mer and Cadie
